I think it depends on what situation we are faced with.
I agree that we can achieve some target goals which we are not good enough through great effort.
But I think everyone has he/she's gift at the different field, and everyone has he/she's personality trait.
If we choose the wrong major orientation that we are not good at, we will feel more hinder when we go on this way.
In my opinion, I think we should find our gift, and base in this field, we could develop our talent which we have the passion.
Difference Between Gift and Talent (With Table)
- The main difference between gift and talent is that gift is an inborn skill while talent is acquired and developed.
- The gift is inherited while talent is built. Gift cannot be chosen but involves genetic components while talent can be chosen according to the passion of the individual. Gift can be acquired or inherited. Gift can be worked upon to make it better. The gift is a specific word and can refer to a skill or ability that one possesses which can be unique and personal. Gift cannot be hidden from others but can go unnoticed.
- While talent is an aptitude for a skill. It is a natural ability and it can be cultivated in an individual through sheer hard work. Talent is not inborn or inherited and therefore requires practice and consistency to excel. Talent has the potential to outrun gifted individuals if built efficiently.
